Shire Extra for lanarkshire Shire Extra Across Lanarkshire
Situated across from the River Wall artwork at Dalmarnock Bridge and close to the entrance of the Cuningar Loop community park, this row of sculptures was created by Joseph Ingleby.
The three elements feature tubing and cogs and take inspiration from Rutherglen’s former industries of rope making and components for shipbuilding, together with the shape and course of the Clyde in this area. It was completed in April 2001 for South Lanarkshire Council and Lanarkshire Enterprise. At night it is floodlit in purple, green and white lighting.
