Wishaw – The Triamond

Background

This sculpture was erected in 2016 and is situated at the bottom of Wishaw’s Main Street, where the road bends to become Glasgow Road. It features three stainless steel diamonds and a boy, made of bronze, doing a cartwheel through them.

The artwork was designed by David A. Anand and local school pupils of the town’s three secondary schools and was part of the town’s streetscape project. The name of the sculpture (The Triamond) was also created by Wishaw’s school pupils. Each stainless steel element represents one of the schools: Clyde Valley, Coltness High and St. Aidans.

There is no plaque at the structure to provide any more information about it.
